The Prophet and his successors condemned those verses of pre-Islamic Arab poets which were obscene and full of barbarous , revengeful sentiments , but expressed their appreciation of more healthy romantic and heroic pre-Islamic poems which were among the finest examples of simple and effective verse . पैगंबर और उनके उत्तरधिकारियों ने इस्लामी अरब के पूर्व के कवियों की कविताओं की भर्त्सना की , जिनमें आपतिजनक नग़्न चित्रण था और जिनकें जगलीपन तथा प्रतिशोध की भावनांए निहित थीं , किंतु उन्होने इस्लाम के पूर्व की अधिक स्वस्थ , भावुक तथा वीर रस की कविताओं की सराहना की , जिनकी सहज और प्रभावशाली कविताओं के सर्वोच्च उदाहरणों के रूप में गणन थी .
