The functions of the Committee are mainly to consider the Report of the Commissioner for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes and report to the Parliament as to the measures taken or required to be taken by the government thereon . समिति के मुख्य कृत्य अनुसूचित जातियों और अनुसूचित जनजातियों के आयुक्त के प्रतिवेदन पर विचार करना और संसद में इस बारे में प्रतिवेदन पेश करना है कि उन पर सरकार द्वारा क्या उपाय किए गए हैं या करने अपेक्षित हैं .

The Commissioner for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes makes regular reports in this regard to the President , which are subsequently placed before the Parliament . to ensure effective implementation 6f the recommendations made by the Commissioner for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes , a Committee on Welfare of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes is set up . अनुसूचित जातियों तथा अनुसूचित जनजातियों का आयुक्त , राष्ट्रपति को इस बारे में नियमित रूप से प्रतिवेदन प्रस्तुत करता है जिन्हें बाद में संसद में चर्चा करने के लिए उसके समक्ष रखा जाता है.अनुसूचित जातियों और अनुसूचित जनजातियों के आयुक्त द्वारा की गई सिफारिशों को संसद प्रभावी ढंग से कार्यरूप देना सुनिश्चित कर सके , इस दृष्टि में अनुसूचित जातियों और अनुसूचित जनजातियों के कल्याण संबंधी समिति स्थापित की जाती है .
