The innovation of this paper is as follows : it designs a manipulative index system of core competence identification which bases the concept and character of core competence , and analyzes the index system by extension theory ; it sets up identification matter - element model of core competence which is the base of extension identification method ; it confirms the variable weight coefficient of the index by the variable weight principle and calculates the degree of dependence by the variable weight synthesis . this optimizes the extension identification method
