Even though it is difficult to relate the special events of the seasons with the global warming, some of the changes that can be attributed to the increase in global temperature are glacial retreat, Arctic shrinkage and sea level rise. The changes in the levels of precipitation can lead to droughts and floods. Extreme weather is also a possible result. यद्यपि विशेष मौसम घटनाओं को ग्लोबल वार्मिंग के साथ जोड़ना मुश्किल है फिर भी विश्व के तापमान में वृद्धि से व्यापक परिवर्तन (changes)सहित बर्फ पीछे हटना (glacial retreat) आर्कटिक shrinkage (Arctic shrinkage) और दुनिया भर में समुद्र के स्तर वृद्धि (sea level rise) हो सकती है .अवक्षेपण (precipitation)की मात्र में परिवर्तन बाढ़ और सूखे (drought)को जनम दे सकता है . चरम मौसम की घटनाओं की आवृत्ति एवं त्रीवता में भी परिवर्तन हो सकते (extreme weather) है।
