But the means should be such as lead to the end , otherwise they are wasted effort , and they might even result in even greater degradation , both outer and inner . मगर साधन ऐसे जरूर होने चाहिए , जो हमें हमारे उद्देश्य तक ले जायें , नहीं तो हमारी सारी कोशिशें बेकार जायेंगी और इसका नतीजा यह भी हो सकता है कि आत्मिक और बाहरी दोनों दृष्टियों से हमारा और भी पतन हो जाये .

In the attempt to gain this outer freedom and to change the environment so as to remove all hindrances to inner development , it is desirable that the means should be such as not to defeat the real object in view . इस बाह्य स्वतंत्रता को हासिल करने और वातावरण को बदलने के लिए , जिससे आत्मिक विकास के रास्ते में आने वाली सभी रूकावटें दूर हो सकें , यह आवश्यक है कि साधन ऐसे हों , जिससे असली उद्देश्य ही न खत्म हो जाये .
