Once , when during the Emergency , its life was extended , the House was dissolved before the completion of the extended term . एक बार जब आपात के दौरान उसकी अवधि को बढ़ाया गया था तो बढ़ाई गई अवधि के समाप्त होने से पूर्व ही लोक सभा का विघटन कर दिया गया था .

During the Emergency , the Forty-Second Constitution Amendment Act of 1976 added to the Preamble the words ' socialist ' and ' secular ' . आपात स्थिति के दौरान , 1976 के 42वें संविधान संशोधन अधिनियम के द्वारा समाजवादी तथा पंथ निरपेक्ष शब्द उद्देशिका में जोड़ दिए गए .
