Rabindranath was one of the first Indian writers to include in his broad sweep of literary appreciation the entire range of Indian literature , from the classical to the contemporary , from the aristocratic to the plebeian , and to illumine and place each in the perspective of the whole . रवीन्द्रनाथ पहले ऐसे भारतीय लेखक थे जिन्होंने भारतीय साहित्य के अंतर्गत शास्त्रीय से समकालीन , अभिजात से अशिष्ट समग्र परिदृश्य के अंतर्गत तथा इतने प्रशस्त स्तर पर मूल्यांकन और उनके गौरवपूर्ण स्थान का विवेचन-मूल्यांकन का बीड़ा उठाया .
