In north India the barks of some trees and in south India palm leaves of various kinds were used for writing . उत्तर भारत मे कुछ वृक्षो की छाल और दक्षिण भारत में विभिन्न प्रकार के ताड़ के पत्ते लिखने लिये उपयोग में लाये जाते थे .
