In the month Bhadrapada , when the moon stands in the tenth station , Magha , they celebrate a festival which they call Pitripaksha , Bhadrapada , new moon i.e . the half of the month of the Fathers because the moon 's entering this station falls near the time of new moon . भाद्रपद , अमावसऋ-ऊण्श्छ्ष्-या भाद्रपद मास में जब चंद्रमा दसवें नक्षत्र माघा में स्थित होता है वे एक तऋ-ऊण्श्छ्ष्-योहार मनाते हैं ऋसे वे ऋपितृ पक्षऋ42 अर्थात पितरों का अर्धमास कहते हैं कऋ-ऊण्श्छ्ष्-योंकि चंद्रमा का इस नक्षत्र में प्रवेश अमावसऋ-ऊण्श्छ्ष्-या के समय के आसपास ही होता है .
