The annual production of poultry meat in 1991 is estimated at 3,282 million tonnes and that of offals at 429 thousand tonnes . 1991 में मुर्गीपालन से प्राप्त मांस तथा गाद का अनुमानित वार्षिक उत्पादन क्रमश : 328 करोड़ 20 लाख टन व 42 लाख 29 हजार टन है .

External parasites such as lice , ticks , mites and fleas cause great annoyance to poultry birds and affect their productive efficiency . जूं , चींचड़ी , मकड़ी और पिस्सू आदि बाहरी उपजीवी मुर्गीपालन पक्षियों को बहुत परेशान करते हैं और उनकी उत्पादन क्षमता पर असर डालते हैं .

If it is intended to establish a poultry farm for the production of table eggs , it should be stocked with chickens possessing high laying qualities . यदि खाने के काम आने वाले अण्डों के उत्पादन के लिए मुर्गीपालन केन्द्र खोले जाने का विचार हो तो इसमें चूजे रखे जाने चाहिएं जिनमें अधिक अण्डे देने का गुण हो .

A great deal of success in poultry keeping depends not only on starting with good stock , but also maintaining its productive efficiency by constant culling . मुर्गीपालन में सफलता केवल इसी पर निर्भर नहीं करती कि शुरू में अच्छी मुर्गियां ली जायें.सफलता प्राप्त करने के लिए यह भी आवश्यक है कि निरन्तर छंटनी की जाती रहे ताकि उत्पादन ठीक होता रहे .
