Peoples court-are different than the regular courts.A retired judge and two workers, out of which one is a social worker and the other is a lawyer, are members of this court.Hearings take place only when both parties are ready. These courts deal with insurance disputes too. लोक अदालत - जनता की अदालतें है ये नियमित कोर्ट से अलग होती है पदेन या सेवानिवृत जज तथा दो सदस्य एक सामाजिक कार्यकता एक वकील इसके सद्स्य होते है सुनवाई केवल तभी करती है जब दोनों पक्ष इसकी स्वीकृति देते हो ये बीमा दावों क्षतिपूर्ति के रूप वाले वादों को निपता देती है

The Act itself provides that the Lok Adalat will determine the proceedings before it and will act with utmost expediency in arriving at a compromise/settlement between the parties , and that the Lok Adalats are to be guided by legal principles and principles of justice , equity and fair play . अधिनियम में स्वयं ही इस बात का उपबंध है कि लोक अदालत अपने समक्ष चलने वाली कार्रवाई का अवधारण करेगी और विवादी पक्षों के बीच समझौते/निपटारे के लिए अधिकतम शीघ्रता के साथ काम करेगी और यह कि लोक अदालतें विधि के सिद्धांतों , न्याय के सिद्धांतों , साम्या और ऋजुता से प्रेरित होंगी .
