She started earning her livelihood by being a music teacher and till her last she was the Principal of Prayag Women's College उन्होंने अध्यापन से अपने कार्यजीवन की शुरूआत की और अंतिम समय तक वे प्रयाग महिला विद्यापीठ की प्रधानाचार्या बनी रहीं।

On 15 April, 1933 the first Indian women poetry association,under the leadership of Subhadra Kumari Chauhan was conducted at Prayag women vidyapeeth इस प्रकार का पहला अखिल भारतवर्षीय कवि सम्मेलन १५ अप्रैल १९३३ को सुभद्रा कुमारी चौहान की अध्यक्षता में प्रयाग महिला विद्यापीठ में संपन्न हुआ।

This type of first All-India Poetical Gathering was held on 15th April, 1933 at Prayag Mahila Vidyapeeth under the Chairmanship of Subhadra Kumari Chauhan. इस प्रकार का पहला अखिल भारतवर्षीय कवि सम्मेलन १५ अप्रैल १९३३ को सुभद्रा कुमारी चौहान की अध्यक्षता में प्रयाग महिला विद्यापीठ में संपन्न हुआ।

The first All India Poetess Conference of this type was accomplished on 15 April 1933 in Paryag Mahila Vidhyapeeth under the chairmanship of Subhdra Kumari Chuahan. इस प्रकार का पहला अखिल भारतवर्षीय कवि सम्मेलन १५ अप्रैल १९३३ को सुभद्रा कुमारी चौहान की अध्यक्षता में प्रयाग महिला विद्यापीठ में संपन्न हुआ।

In this way on 26th April 1933 a national meeting of Indian poets was organized at Prayag which was blessed by the presence of Mrs.Subhadra kumari chauhan as the chief guest. इस प्रकार का पहला अखिल भारतवर्षीय कवि सम्मेलन १५ अप्रैल १९३३ को सुभद्रा कुमारी चौहान की अध्यक्षता में प्रयाग महिला विद्यापीठ में संपन्न हुआ।
