The thought brought a sweet relief , her whole body was crying out for it , but a cry brought her back to reality . आखिर अब पास आ पहुँचा है - हर चीज़ का अन्त । इस खयाल से ही उसे मधुर सान्त्वना मिली , उसकी समूची देह उसे पाने के लिए चीख उठी , किन्तु उस चीख ने उसे वापस वास्तविकता की ओर खींच दिया ।

An evil chill crept up from his breast and shook his whole body - only his eyes were burning . उसने अचानक अपनी पूरी शक्ति से - उसके कन्धों को दबा दिया … उसे सान्त्वना देने के लिए । एक दूषित - सी सर्द हवा उसकी छाती से उठकर उसकी समूची देह को झिंझोड़ गई … सिर्फ़ उसकी आँखें जल रही थी ।
