The chief symptoms are acute rise in temperature , lameness , hot and painful swellings of varying size , situated usually on well-developed muscular areas such as the hindquarters , shoulders and neck . इस रोग के प्रमुख लक्षण हैं : तापमान का बहुत अधिक बढ़ जाना , जानवर का लंगड़ाने लगना , विभिन्न आकारों की पीड़ा देनेवाली सूजनों का पैदा होना.ये सूजन प्राय : सुविकसित मांसपेशियों वाले अवयवों , तथा पिछले पुट्ठों , में ही पैदा होती हैं .
