Although Superman is able to regain his powers by subjecting himself to a dangerous form of'chemotherapy'where he deliberately exposes himself to kryptonite to burn away what radiation was preventing his cells from absorbing sunlight, analysis reveals that Superman is now absorbing power from kryptonite that will soon kill him.

It can be noticed that in the selfsame episode Rogue tries to use her personality-absorbing powers on one of the Prime Sentinels only to find nothing at all : she then states that nothing of the original host remains once the Prime Sentinel personality has taken over, though this is questionable as Magneto and Xavier were able to restore Karima's personality.

It later transpires that Weapon Omega is being manipulated by Omega Flight's handler Agent Brown as well as his psychologist Dr . Benning, but worse than that unregistered super-criminals are being detained, no record being made of their detention, and their powers being used to fuel Weapon Omega's energy absorbing power, resulting in the deaths of several of the inmates who are completely drained of life.
