They did not attempt like Akbar a blending of their culture with that of India and a social contact on equal terms , but tried to impose from above -LRB- keeping themselves socially aloof -RRB- as much Western education and culture on the people of India as they thought was good for them . अकबर के समान उन्होनें भारत की संस्कृति के साथ अपनी संस्कृति के साथ अपनी संस्कृति का मेल करने तथा बराबरी के सामाजिक संबंध बनाने का नहीं , बल्कि ऊपरसे भरत पर जितनी भी पश्चिमी शिक्षा और संस्कृति उनके हित में समझते थे , उन्होने अपने को अलग रखते हुए लादने का प्रयत्न किया .

The author of the book Gita distributes the duties of worship among the body , the voice , and the heait What the body has to do is fasting , prayer , the fulfilment of the law , the service towards the angels and the sages among the Brahmans , keeping clean the body , keeping aloof from killing under all circumstances , and never lookine at another man 's wife and other 's property . गीता के रचयिता ने उपासना के कर्म को शरीर , वाणी और मन में विभाजित किया है.शरीर का कार्य है व्रत रखना , प्रार्थना करन , विधि-निर्वाह करना , देवताओं और ब्राह्मणों में ऋषि-मुनियों की सेवा करना , शरीर को स्वच्छ रखना , किसी भी परिस्थिति में हत्या से दूर रहना और कभी दूसरे मनुष्य की पत्नी और दूसरे की संपत्ति की ओर दृष्टि न डालना .

Considering the life of the animals by pairs , how the one member of the pair helps the other , and how the lust of other animals of the same species is kept aloof from them , you cannot help declaring matrimony to be a necessary institution ; whilst disorderly cohabitation or harlotry on the part of man is a shameful proceeding , that does not even attain to the standing of trie development of animals , which in every other respect stand far below him . यदि पशुओं के जोड़ों के जीवन पर विचार किया जाए और यह देखा जाए कि जोड़े का एक सदस्य किस प्रकार दूसरे की सहायता करता है और किस प्रकार उसी प्रजाति के अन्य प्राणियों की वासना उनसे दूर रखी जाती है तो आप यह घोषणा किए बिना नहीं रह सकते कि विवाह एक आवश्यक प्रथा है.इसी के विपरीत यदि मनुष्य अनियंत्रित संभोग या वेश्यावृत्ति की ओर प्रवृत्त हो तो वह एक लज़्जाजनक आचरण होगा जिससे वे पशुओं की तुलना में निम्नतर हो जाएंगे जबकि शेष पशु हर दृष्टि से मनुष्य से कहीं नीचे हैं .
