In the begining of 20th century, freedom lovers were indulged in prolonged non violent struggle for independence under the leadership of Mahatma Gandhi,who later bestowed with the honour as father of the nation. बीसवीं शताब्दी के प्रारंभ में एक लम्बे समय तक स्वतंत्रता प्राप्ति के लिये विशाल अहिंसावादी संघर्ष चला जिसका नेतृत्व महात्मा गांधी जो कि आधिकारिक रुप से आधुनिक भारत के राष्ट्रपिता से संबोधित किये जाते हैं ने किया।

Madigan : “the no-state solution.” Perfect. no one should expect a Palestinian state on the West Bank and Gaza to end the Arab-Israeli conflict: It would merely move it to a new stage … A Palestinian state means new disasters for the Palestinian people and instability for the Arab states. स्वशासन की असफलता के उपरांत कुछ फिलीस्तीनी जार्डन के विकल्प का स्वागत कर रहे हैं। एक बिना नाम बताये फिलीस्तीन अथारिटी के वरिष्ठ अधिकारी ने डिकर और इंबारी को बताया कि जार्डन के साथ परिसंघ या महासंघ ही , “फिलीस्तीनी इजरायल संघर्ष का केवल एक सही , स्थाई और दीर्घगामी समाधान है” । हना सेनिओरा का कहना है, “ वर्तमान स्थिति में द्विराज्य समाधान की क्षीण सम्भावना हमें विवश करती है कि हम जार्डन के साथ महासंघ की सम्भावना पर पुनर्विचार करें” ।न्यूयार्क टाइम्स में हसन एम फतह ने जार्डन में एक फिलीस्तीनी को उद्धृत किया, “ हमारे लिये सब कुछ नष्ट हो चुका है हम पिछले 60 वर्षों से लड रहे हैं और कुछ भी नहीं बचा है। यह बेहतर होगा कि यदि जार्डन फिलीस्तीन में चीजों को संचालित करे यदि राजा अब्दुल्लाह पश्चिमी तट का नियंत्रण ले लें” ।
