A “”No Ball“” is an extra ball that a bowler has to bowl as a punishment for breaking a rule while bowling.(1) unnecessary swing of arms (2)overstepping the popping crease (3)If his foot falls over the return crease.According to current rules, the extra ball being bowled for this reason is said to be a Free-hit in 20-20 matches and ODIs. This means that the batsman cannot be given out in any case except a run-out. नो बॉल एक ऐसी अतिरिक्त बॉल होती है जो गेंदबाज के द्वारा किसी नियम का उल्लंघन करने पर दंड के रूप में डाली जाती है; (अ) अनुपयुक्त भुजा एक्शन के कारण; (ब) पोप्पिंग क्रिज पर ओवर स्टेप्पिंग के कारण; (स) यदि उसका पैर रिटर्न क्रिज के बाहर हो; इस के लिए गेंदबाज को फ़िर से गेंद डालनी होती है.वर्तमान नियमों के अनुसार खेल के ट्वेंटी 20 (Twenty20) और ओ डी आई (ODI) प्रारूपों में फ़िर से डाली गई गेंद फ्री हिट होती है अर्थात इस गेंद पर बल्लेबाज रन आउट के अलावा किसी और प्रकार से आउट नहीं हो सकता है.

If the innings end before all ten batsman are out then two of the batsman are called not out.An innings may end shift may end up with three reasons: if the batting side captain declares end of innings(mutunounced over the angel (strategic decision), or the batting side has achieved the target and the game is won , or play time is reduced or terminated due to bad weather. In limited overs cricket, when the last over is being bowled, two batsmen may be saved from being out. यदि दस बल्लेबाजों के आउट होने से पहले ही एक पारी समाप्त हो जाए तो दो बल्लेबाज नॉट आउट कहलाते हैं. एक पारी तीन कारणों से जल्दी ख़त्म हो सकती है: यदि बल्लेबाजी पक्ष का कप्तान घोषित कर दे की परी समाप्त हो गई है (जो एक सामरिक निर्णय होता है) या बल्लेबाजी पक्ष ने अपना लक्ष्य प्राप्त कर लिया हो और खेल को जीत लिया हो या खेल ख़राब मौसम या समय ख़त्म हो जाने के कारण समाप्त कर दिया जाये. सीमित ओवरों के क्रिकेट में जब अंतिम ओवर किया जा रहा हो तब भी दो बल्लेबाज बचे हो सकते हैं.
