On 12 February 1915 , Naren with two others looted the cash of Bird and Company in broad daylight In Garden Reach at Calcutta , in the first dacoity of the series . उनमें से एक उल्लेखनीय है 12 फरवरी 1915 को नरेंद्र तथा दो अनय व्यक़्तियों ने दिन-दहाड़े गार्डन रीच कलकता में बर्ड एंड कंपनी को लूटा जो कि डकैतियों की श्रंखला की पहली कड़ी थी .

According to Dr Jadugopal Mukherjee , The Garden Reach dacoity was an act of supreme courage and daring , and it was executed by the cool-headed brain of Naren Bhattacharya In a perfect manner . डा0 जदुगोपाल मुकर्जी के अनुसार , ? ? गार्डन रीच डकैती एक अदम्य सहास व निर्भीकता का कार्य था जिसे नरेन भट्टाचार्य ने बहुत ठंडे दिमाग से पूरी दक्षता से संपन्न किया .

When he was arrested , a copy of Barm Ghosh 's Bartafnan Rananttt -LRB- Strategy of Modem Warfare -RRB- and the manuscript titled MayerDak -LRB- Mother 's Call -RRB- were found in his possession . डकैती के बाद नरेंद्र फरार हो गए , किंतु कुछ दिनों बाद गिरफ्तार कर लिये गया , बारिन घोष की पुस्तक ? वर्तमान नीति ? तथा मायेर डाक ? की हस्तलिपि उनसे बरामद हुई .
