At this the bride is seated on a pedestal and dressed up as the woman sitting around her sing songs which request the husband to get the mother-to-be special delicacies to eat and articles that she desires . बहू को चौकी पर बैठाकर उसका श्रृगार किया जाता है.इस अवसर पर गए जाने वाले गीतों में प्रायः श्रृगार की वस्तुओं का विवरण तथा पति द्वारा पूति हेतु अनुरोध रहता है स्त्री की गर्भावस्था संबंधी मनोदशाओं तथा इच्छाओं को व्यक़्त करने वाले गीत ' सुहढ़ियां ' कहलाते है .
