Saudi Arabia, the homeland Osama bin Laden and fifteen of the nineteen 9/11 hijackers, is reasonably described as “terrorist supporting.” The 9/11 Commission staff describes Saudi Arabia as having an environment where “fund-raisers and facilitators throughout Saudi Arabia and the Gulf” raised money for al Qaeda. In July 2005, U.S. Treasury Undersecretary Stuart Levey stated that “even today, we believe that Saudi donors may still be a significant source of terrorist financing, including for the insurgency in Iraq.” CAIR has proven links to… Islamic terrorists. The Justice Department detained 1,200 suspects, the great majority of whom will be deported. Bashir Musa Mohammed Nafi , 50. Born in Egypt, Nafi has two Ph.D.s and was a researcher at WISE. He was deported for visa violations in 1996 and went to England where, as an Irish citizen he lives in Oxfordshire. He teaches at two London institutions, Birkbeck College of the University of London (“Social and Political Issues in Islam”) and the Muslim College (“State and Society in Islamic History”). Nafi is also associated with the Institute of Contemporary Islamic Thought (which in 2000 published his analysis, The Rise and Decline of the Arab-Islamic Reform Movement ). He has written for the Virginia-based Middle East Affairs Journal and a book of his appeared in Arabic in 1999, Imperialism and Zionism: The Palestinian Case . Would-be African immigrants arrive on a boat on May 18 at the port of Los Cristianos, Tenerife, Canary Islands. These gruesome odds notwithstanding, the waves of immigration keep growing, in large part because once they land on Spanish territory, their reception is so accommodating and few illegals are ever deported . (A head of emergency services in the Canaries, Gerardo Garcia, has compared landing there to going on holiday .) On May 18 , a record 656 people landed in the Canaries, or one-seventh of the total number of arrivals in all of 2005. “It is almost like an invasion ,” a volunteer in the Canaries lamented, Agence France-Presse reported. परन्तु बहुत समय नहीं हुआ जब स्पेन और यूरोपीयन संघ के भारी दबाव के चलते मोरक्को के अधिकारियों ने इन अवैध आप्रवासियों पर कड़ी कार्रवाई करते हुये बिना किसी प्रावधान के उन्हें रेत में मरने को छोड़ दिया. यही कुछ मोरक्को के दक्षिण में स्थित इसके राज्य क्षेत्र पश्चिमी सहारा में भी हुआ. इसी बीच यूरोप के सामुद्रिक सीमा सुरक्षा बल ने भूमध्य सागर में अपनी गश्त कुशलतापूर्वक तेज कर दी.

Sep. 4, 2006 update : Hana Al Jader , the wife of Saudi prince Mohamed Bin Turki Alsaud who is charged with enslaving two women, will plead guilty to two of the six counts of forced labor and four counts of violating immigration laws. One concerns visa fraud and the other harboring an illegal alien for financial gain. Dec. 22, 2006 update : Hana Al Jader may have faced up to 140 years in jail and $2.5 million in fines for enslaving two women, and she may have pleaded guilty to two counts, but all she got was a sentence of wo years probation with six months' home confinement. She must also pay a $40,000 fine and $206,000 in restitution to her former workers; and she must forfeit her second residence in Arlington, Va. Finally, she agreed to be deported to Saudi Arabia after the six months. Al Jader's lawyers seem to have convinced the judge that incarcerating her would be unfair to her six teenage children and her husband, Prince Mohamed Al Saud, who was severely injured in a car accident in 1991.
