Palestinians must experience the bitter crucible of defeat before they will drop their foul goal of eliminating their Israeli neighbor and begin to build their own economy, polity, society, and culture. No short-cut to this happy outcome exists. Who truly cares for Palestinians must want their despair to come quickly, so that a skilled and dignified people can move beyond its current barbarism and build something decent. The huge and wasted outpouring of Western financial aid, ironically, brings on that despair in two ways: by encouraging terrorism and by distorting the economy, both of which imply economic decline. Rarely has the law of unintended consequences worked so imaginatively. कष्ट नहीं वरन् उल्लास फिलीस्तीनियों के युद्धपरक ब्यवहार के लिए उत्तरदायी है। इसके अनुसार जिसमें भी फिलीस्तीनी आत्म विश्वास कम होता है वह अच्छी चीज है। एक असफल अर्थव्यवस्था से फिलीस्तीनियों में अवसाद का भाव व्याप्त होता है परन्तु सैन्य और अन्य क्षमताओं के सम्बन्ध में नहीं और उनका संकल्प अधिक सशक्त होता है।

Nov. 21, 2013 update : Pope Benedict XVI failed to take up the issue of Christians living in Muslim-majority countries. Pope Francis has now dipped his toe into these waters, stating that “The living conditions of Christians in many parts of the Middle East arouse great worry. They endure the consequences of current tensions and conflicts in a particularly burdensome manner.” He went on to name Syria, Iraq, Egypt and “other parts of the Holy Land” as “sometimes dripping with blood.” He called for “respect for everyone's right to a dignified life and freedom to profess their own religion” and declared that “The Bishop of Rome will not rest as long as there are men and women of any religion with injured dignity, deprived of life's necessities, robbed of their futures, forced to the status of refugees and displaced persons.” इस सन्तुलित गम्भीर पहुँच से आपसी समझ विकसित करने में सहायता मिलेगी जिसके व्यापक परिणाम चर्च से बाहर भी होंगे. यह देखते हुये कि सामान्य नेता अन्तर्धार्मिक मसलों में कितना नेतृत्व करते हैं. पश्चिमी देशों को भी उपयुक्त प्रतिफल को बढ़ावा देना चाहिये निश्चय ही परिणाम अत्यन्त ही रोचक होगा.

This dignified fight which consisted of organised resistance against laws which the Indians conscientiously believed to be unjust , fought on the whole without violence in word or deed , freed the Indian mind from pessimism and defeatism and created the conviction that even an unarmed subject people could preserve their self-confidence and self-respect and aspire after freedom . यह समऋ-ऊण्श्छ्ष्-मनजनक लडऋआऋ ऋसमे कानूनो के विरूद्ध संगठित अवरोध निहित था,ऋसे भारतीय चेतना में अनुचित मानते थे , समऋ-ऊण्श्छ्ष्-पूर्ण रूप से इऋया और शबऋ-ऊण्श्छ्ष्-दो के द्वारा बिना हिंसा के लडऋआऋ प्रारंभ की.इसने भारतीय मसऋ-ऊण्श्छ्ष्-तिषऋ-ऊण्श्छ्ष्-क को भागऋ-ऊण्श्छ्ष्-यवादिता और निराशा से मुकऋ-ऊण्श्छ्ष्-त किया तथा यह धारणा उतऋ-ऊण्श्छ्ष्-पनऋ-ऊण्श्छ्ष्-न की कि बिना हथियारों के शासित जनता अपना आतऋ-ऊण्श्छ्ष्-मविशऋ-ऊण्श्छ्ष्-वास और सऋ-ऊण्श्छ्ष्-वाभिमान कायम रख सकती है और सऋ-ऊण्श्छ्ष्-वतत्रता के लिए प्रयतऋ-ऊण्श्छ्ष्-न कर सकती है .

The great irony is that Arabs are paying the higher price for their destructive urge. The Arab focus on harming the Jewish state prevents a talented and dignified people from achieving its potential. It means they neglect improving their own standard of living, opening up their own political process, or attaining the rule of law. The result is plain to see: Arabs are among the world leaders in percentages of dictatorships, rogue states, violent conflicts, and military spending. यह बडी विडम्बना है कि अरबवासियों को अपने विध्वंसक आग्रह के लिये बडी कीमत चुकानी पड रही है। यहूदी राज्य को रोकने पर अरबवासियों के ध्यान देने से उनके प्रतिभाशाली और शालीन लोग अपनी क्षमता को प्राप्त नहीं कर पा रहे हैं। इसका अर्थ है कि वे अपने जीवन स्तर में सुधार करने करने का प्रयास नहीं कर रहे हैं , अपनी राजनीतिक प्रक्रिया को खोल नहीं रहे हैं या फिर कानून के शासन को प्राप्त नहीं करना चाहते। इसका परिणाम स्पष्ट है कि विश्व के तानाशाहों के प्रतिशत में अरब के लोग हैं , दुष्ट राज्य हैं, हिंसक संघर्ष हैं और सेना पर खर्च है।
