In short , forests protect our environment , maintain the ecological balance , reduce pollution and noise levels , protect land from erosion caused due to rains and storms , prevent formation of sand dunes and deserts , add to the aesthetic value of the landscape and help tide over our energy problems . संक्षेप में यह कहा जा सकता है कि वन हमारे पर्यावरण की रक्षा करते हैं , पारिस्थितिक संतुलन को बनाए रखते हैं , प्रदूषण तथा शोर को घटाते हैं , आंधी और बरसात से होने वाले भूक्षरण को रोकते हैं , बालू को एक जगह जमा होने देने तथा रेगिस्तान बनने से रोकते हैं , धरती को अधिक सुंदर और आकर्षक बनाते हैं तथा ऊर्जा की समस्या को हल करने में सहायक होते हैं .

Several factors then prompted the AKP to confront the military: European Union accession demands for civilian control over the military; a 2008 court case that came close to shutting down the AKP; and the growing assertiveness of its Islamist ally, the Fethullah Gülen Movement . An erosion in AKP popularity (from 47 percent in 2007 to 29 percent now) added a sense of urgency to this confrontation, for it points to the end of one-party AKP rule in the next elections. इसके बाद अनेक ऐसे तत्व आये जिसने कि एकेपी को सेना के साथ दो दो हाथ करने के लिये प्रेरित किया ; 2008 का न्यायालय का मामला जिसके चलते एकेपी को बंद करने की नौबत तक आ गयी और इसके इस्लामवादी साथियों का बढता आग्रही स्वरूप फेतुल्लाह गुलेन आंदोलन। एकेपी की लोकप्रियता में आई गिरावट( 2007के 47 प्रतिशत के मुकाबले 29 प्रतिशत रह जाना) के चलते इस टकराव में और गति आ गयी ताकि अगले चुनाव में अकेले एकेपी शासन की स्थिति न होने का सामना किया जा सके।
