The trimurti cave-temple at Mahabalipuram differs from the other rock-cut mandapa-type cave-temples of the Mahendra or Mamalla style , in that it represents only the vimana- or shrine-fronts of three contiguous units in bold relief without the frontal mandapa component . महाबलीपुरम स्थित त्रिमूर्ति गुफा मंदिर , महेंद्र या मामल्स शैली के चट्टान में तराशे गए मडप प्रकार के अन्य गुफा मंदिरों से भिन्न है.उसमें यह केवल तीन संलग़्न इकाइयों के विमान या मंदिर के अग्रभाग का , मंडप घटक के सामने के भाग के बिना , मोटे उभार ( भित्ति चित्र ) में निरूपण है .

The intervening parts of the idai nali , immediately in front of the door-opening of the garbhakudya and lying between it and the outer principal door-opening of the srikoyil fronton constitutes , functionally , the ardha-mandapa part in the scheme and thus comes to have a sukanasa superstructure over it as a frontal projection of the main srikoyil superstructure . गर्भकुद्या के द्वार के ठीक सामने और इसके और श्रीकोयिल के बाहरी द्वार के बीच में पड़ने वाला इदई नाली का मध्यवर्ती भाग , व्यावहारिक रूप से योजना में अर्धमंडप भाग बनाता है और इसलिए मुख़्य श्रीकोयिल अधिरचना के अग्र प्रक्षेपण के रूप में उस शुकनासा की अधिरचना आती है .
