Many Lebanese expressed satisfaction that the arrogant and reckless Hizbullah organization was under assault. One Lebanese politician privately confided to Michael Young of Beirut's Daily Star that “Israel must not stop now … for things to get better in Lebanon, Nasrallah must be weakened further.” The prime minister, Fuad Saniora , was quoted complaining about Hizbullah having become “a state within a state.” A BBC report quoted a resident of the Lebanese Christian town of Bikfaya estimating that 95 percent of the town's population was furious at Hizbullah. सउदी अरब के अग्रणी वहाबी व्यक्ति ने घोषणा की कि सुन्नी मुसलमानों द्वारा हिजबुल्लाह की सहायता करना, उसके लिये प्रार्थना करना या उसमें सम्मिलित होना इस्लामी कानून के विरूद्ध है. किसी भी प्रमुख तेल निर्यातक अरब देश ने ऐसी मन्शा प्रकट नहीं की कि वे हिजबुल्लाह के साथ एकता प्रदर्शित करते हुये तेल या गैस का निर्यात रोक देंगे.

On March 1, four days later, Rashid Baz, a New York livery driver of Lebanese origins, fired two guns at a van carrying Hasidic Jewish boys on a ramp leading to the Brooklyn Bridge, killing Ari Halberstam, 16, a yeshiva student. Baz was quickly apprehended, convicted, and sentenced to 141 years in prison. Circumstantial evidence pointed to a link between the two events, for Baz was immersed in the Arabic-language media coverage of Goldstein's attack, he attended the incendiary Islamic Center of Bay Ridge, and he was surrounded by Muslims who condoned terrorism against Jews. More than that, friends indicated that Baz was obsessively angered by the attack in Hebron and the psychiatrist for his legal defense, Douglas Anderson, testified that Baz “was enraged” by it. “He was absolutely furious. . . . Were it not for Hebron this whole tragedy [in New York] wouldn't have occurred.” 25 फरवरी 1994 को बारच गोल्डस्टैन जो कि अमेरिकी मूल का इजरायली डाक्टर था हेब्रान की केव आफ द पैट्रियार्क मस्जिद में गया और अपने स्वचालित हथियार से 29 मुसलमानों की ह्त्या कर दी और अंत में स्वयं भी मारा गया। इस नरसंहार से मुसलमानों में षडयंत्रकारी सिद्धांत को बल मिला और उनके क्षेत्रों में दंगे भी हुए और इजरायल की सरकार पर आरोप भी लगाया गया कि वह गोल्डस्टैन के साथ खडी है जबकि इजरायल की सरकार ने इस घटना की निंदा भी की।
