Further, Innes indicates that the drivers sometimes cite a religious reason for refusing his guide dog, a clear allusion to the Shari‘a, the only religious law with strictures about contact with dogs. My innocuous caption is factually correct. Yusuf's insulting blog is factually incorrect. I bother to point this out because Yusuf's screed is so typical. And to point out how sensible debate cannot proceed when the other side is hysterical and inaccurate. I recently criticized the Israeli government for its exchange with Hizbullah in “ Samir Kuntar and the Last Laugh ” ( The Jerusalem Post , July 21); to this, the eminent counterterrorism expert at Tel Aviv University, Yoram Schweitzer challenged the appropriateness of my offering views on this subject. Actually, they distinguish between two types of escapist parties, “anomic” and “new start.” The former interests us little here, being directed at “alienated, politically adrift voters with little investment in the political system” and including over the years such colorful but forgettable personal parties as those of Shmuel Flatto-Sharon, Pnina Rosenblum, and Rabbi Yitchak Kadourie, not to speak of the surreal Green Leaf (i.e., marijuana) Party of recent elections. लेखक के अनुसार पलायनवादी राजनीतिक दल इजरायल के 40 वर्ष पुरानी राजनीतिक अवस्था में स्थायी तत्व रहे हैं. कदीमा को पलायनवादी कहना तो शायद अपमानजनक होगा लेकिन शेरोन की नई पार्टी सुसर और गोल्डवर्ग के इस वाक्यांश पर सटीक बैठती है. वास्तव में उन्होंने पलायनवादी पार्टियों को दो भागों में बांटा है, सामान्य स्तर से नीचे तथा नई शुरुआत . प्रथम स्तर की पार्टियां यहां हमारी रुचि का विषय नहीं हैं. क्योंकि इनका ध्यान राजनीति से अलग-थलग पड़े उन मतदाताओं की ओर होता है जिनका राजनीतिक व्यवस्था में हर प्रकार से बहुत कम निवेश होता है . इन वर्षों में अनेक रंगों वाली व्यक्तिगत पार्टियां इस रंग में आती हैं जिनमें शैमुअल फ्लैटो , शेरोन , नीना रोसेनत्लम, रबी मित्चाक , कदोवरी तथा हाल के चुनावों में सेवरियल ग्रीन लीफ पार्टी प्रमुख है .
