She was also associated with the education and orphanage committees of the Anjuman-i-Himayat-i-Islam, in Lahore, and with several hospitals, as well as maternity and child welfare committees.

On 23 March 1926, at the age of 31, Douglas was appointed Scottish Board of Health as an advisor on Maternity and Child Welfare, a position that she went on to hold for over 30 years.
