The more exciting conspiracy theory began when a fringe antisemitic writer named Christopher Bollyn published an analysis on February 3 announcing that “Rose traveled to Philadelphia in October 2004 to visit Daniel Pipes. … Rose then penned a positive article about Pipes.” वास्तव में वह उबाऊ नियमित साक्षात्कार से अधिक कुछ नहीं था. रोमांचकारी षड़यन्त्रकारी सिद्धान्त तब आरम्भ हुआ जब एक सेमेटिक विरोधी लेखक क्रिस्टोफर बोलिन ने 3 फरवरी को एक विश्लेषण प्रकाशित करते हुये घोषणा की कि “रोज ने अक्टूबर 2004 में फिलाडेल्फिया की यात्रा की थी और उसके बाद रोज ने डैनियल पाइप्स के सम्बन्ध में एक सकारात्मक लेख लिखा था”. दो दिन पश्चात् श्री बोलिन ने इस तथ्य को आश्चर्यजनक ढंग से एक षड़यन्त्रकारी सिद्धान्त में परिवर्तित कर दिया “ मुस्लिम विरोधी कार्टून स्कैण्डल स्पष्ट रूप से ईसाई पश्चिम को इस्लामी राज्यों और उनके निवासियों के विरुद्ध खड़ा करने के यहूदी नव परम्परावादियों के कृत्रिम सभ्यता के संघर्ष के रूप में परिवर्तित होता जा रहा है .हमें पता है कि फ्लेमिंग रोज यहूदी नव परम्परावादी डैनियल पाइप्स के सहकर्मी और मित्र हैं. उन्होंने फिलाडेल्फिया में पाइप्स से भेंट की और मित्रवत् आत्मकथात्मक लेख लिखा”.
