If the insects declare , like our ' public-servants ' a ' work-to-rule ' and refuse to pollinate the flowers , then man could never grow pulses , oilseeds , cotton , mango , orange , apple , pear and fig , to name only a few . हमारे ' जन सेवकों ' की तरह अगर कीट भी ' नियम से काम ' की घोषणा कर दें और फूलों को परागित करने से मना कर दें तो मनुष्य कभी भी दालें , तिलहन , कपास , आम , संतरे , सेब , नाशपाती और अंजीर नहीं उगा सकेगा.ये तो कुछ ही चीजों के नाम दिए गए हैं अन्यथा बहुत लंबी सूची हो जाएगी .

It is a central nodal agency of the government for undertaking price support operations for nonperishable commodities like pulses and oilseeds and for market intervention operations for perishable commodities like potatoes, onions, grapes, kinno, oranges, apples, eggs, chillies, black pepper, etc यह दालों और तेलहनों जैसे अविकारी पण्यों के मूल्य समर्थन संचालनों और आलू, प्याज़, अंगूर, किॅफो, संतरा, सेब, अंडा, मिर्च, काली मिर्च आदि जेसे विकारी पण्यों के बाज़ार हस्तक्षेप संचालनों के लिये सरकार की केंद्रीय नोडीय एजेन्सी है.

Later on it will be extended to all crops including oilseeds, horticulture, etc and all sorts of agricultural activities like fisheries, animal husbandry, sericulture, and so on. बाद में इसे तेलहनों, उद्यान-कृषि आदि सभी फसलों तथा मत्स्य-उद्योग, पशुपालन,रेशम-उत्पादन आदि जैसे सभी प्रकार के कृषीय क्रिया-कलापों तक विस्तारित किया जायेगा. जिन कृषकों ने किसी भी सरकारी संस्था से ऋण का लाभ उठाया है, उनके लिये यह योजना अनिवार्य होगी दूसरों के लिये वैकल्पिक.

In order to provide financial support to farmers in the event of crop failure due to drought, flood, etc and to restore the credit eligibility for the next crop season, a Comprehensive Crop Insurance Scheme (CCIS), which covered wheat, paddy, millets, oilseeds and pulses, was introduced in April 1985. सूखे, बाढ़, आदि से फसल खराब हो जाने की स्थिति में किसानों को आर्थिक सहायता देने हेतु और अगली फसल के मौसम में ऋण योग्यता लौटाने के लिये अप्रैल १९८५ में गेहूँ,धान,ज्वार,तेलहनों और दालों को सुरक्षित करने वाली एक व्यापक फसल बीमा योजना (सी सी आई एस) शुरू की गई.

In order to save the farmers from cartels of traders and encourage farmers to undertake the cultivation of certain specific crops like foodgrains and oilseeds and cotton and jute and tobacco and sugarcane and others the government also fixes minimum support and statutory prices for some crops and makes arrangements for their purchase on state account whenever their price fall below the support level कृषकों को व्यापारियों के उत्पादक-संघों से बचाने के लिए और कुछ विशिष्ट फसलों (खाद्यॉफ, तेलहन,सूत,जूट,तंबाकू, गॅफा, इत्यादि) की खेती का दायित्व लेने को प्रोत्साहित करने के लिए सरकार कुछ फसलों की न्यूनतम आर्थिक सहायता/वैधानिक कीमतें नियत करती है और ऐसी व्यवस्था करती है कि जब भी उनकी कीमतें आर्थिक सहायता स्तर से नीचे गिरें,तब उनकी खरीदारी राज्य के खाते पर हो.
