Even worse, in 1997 when an Israeli woman distributed a poster of Muhammad as a pig , the American government shamefully abandoned its protection of free speech. Stranger yet was the context of this outburst. As I noted at the time , having combed through weeks of State Department briefings, I “found nothing approaching this vituperative language in reference to the horrors that took place in Rwanda, where hundreds of thousands lost their lives. To the contrary, Mr. Burns was throughout cautious and diplomatic.” आपराधिक मुकदमे की सहमति दे दी. इससे भी आश्चर्यजनक इस प्रकरण पर गुस्से का प्रसंग था . राज्य विभाग की अनेक सप्ताहों की प्रेस ब्रीफिंग को देखते हुए मुझे कभी नहीं लगा कि इसी प्रकार की गाली गलौज वाली भाषा का इस्तेमाल रवांडा की भयानकता के संदर्भ में हुआ हो जहां सैक़डों और हजारों लोगों ने अपनी जान गंवा दी . इसके विपरीत पूरे समय तक बर्न काफी सतर्क और कूटनीतिक बने रहे.

Captain Shah Nawaz Khan of 1/14 Punjab Regiment , Captain Prem Kumar Sehgal of 2/10 Baluch Regiment and Lieutenant Gurbaksh Singh Dhillon of 1/14 Punjab Regiment-who had all joined the Indian National Army organised by the Provisional Government of Free India under the leadership of Sri Subhas Chandra Bose , at Singapore -LRB- Shonan -RRB- during 1943-45 , were arrested as prisoners of war after the Allied forces recaptured Malaya and Burma and were subsequently put on trial before a court martial in the Red Fort of Delhi . 1/14 पंजाब रंजिमेंट के कैप्टन शाह नवाज खान , लेZZZफ्टिनेंट गुरबक़्श सिंह ढिल्लों और 2/10 बलूच रेजिमेंट के कैप्टन प्रेमकुमार सहगल ऐसे तीन अफसर थे , जो 1943-45 के दौरान सिंगापुर ( शोनन ) में सुभाषचन्द्र बोस के नेतृत्व में प्रोविजनल गवर्नमेंट आफ Lंडिया ( आजाद हिंद की अंतरिम सरकार ) द्वारा बनाई गयी आजाद हिंद फौज में भरती हुए थे.मित्र देखों की सेना द्वारा मलाया और बर्मा पर दोबारा आधिपत्य स्थापित कर लेने के बाद इन अफसरों को युद्धबंदियों के रूप में गिरफ्तार कर लिया गया और दिल्ली के लालकिले में लगाई गयी फौजी अदालत में उन पर मुकदमा चलाया गया .
