:: If you have a look at the diagram ( as IP 93 suggests ) " on the heater " it " says " that the pipe with the valve is the cold in ! . :-) If there is a waste or overflow pipe I hazard a " guess " it may be behind the heater, possibly leading outside or connected to a drain pipe.
