Lee founded a clandestine Anglo-Papalist society, the Order of Corporate Reunion, to continue the work of the APUC and to restore an apostolic succession recognised by the Roman Catholic Church, through reordinations, as a means for reunion.

While seven of the eight books into which the work was divided were generally conservative in tone & mdash; they owed much to the " Decretum " of Burchard of Worms & mdash; the first book, which was devoted to the primacy and special rights of the see of Rome, was strongly papalist.
