It is here that more serious offences such as dacoities , all types of homicide , thefts by habitual offenders , etc . are tried when these cases are committed to the Sessions Court by the Courts below . निचले न्यायालयों द्वारा सुपुर्द किए जाने के बाद सत्र न्यायालय में ही डकैती , सभी प्रकार के मानव वध , आभ्यासिक अपराधियों द्वारा की गई चोरियों आदि गंभीर अपराधों का विचारण होता है .

It was recorded in the proceedings that accused No . 1 did not wish to call any defence witnesses and that he had no objection if the trial in the Sessions Court proceeded without delay . अदालत की कार्यवाही में दर्ज किया गया कि अभियुक़्त नं . 1 अपने बचाव के लिए किसी गवाह को बुलाना नहीं चाहता है और सेशन कोर्ट द्वारा बिना किसी विलंब के मुकदमा आगे चलाने पर उसे कोई आपत्ति नहीं है .

In his statement before the Sessions Court , the appellant prays in aid , the works of Hume and Behtham , which he claims , are authorities for the proposition that if is permissible to engage in an attempt to overthrow a government by vio-lerice . सेशन अदालत के सामने अपने बयान में अपीलकर्ता ने हयूम और बेंथम के सिद्धांतों का सहारा लिया था और यह दावा किया था कि वे इस बात के प्रमाण हैं कि हिंसा के माध्यम से एक सरकार को हटाने का प्रयास करना स्वीकृत है .

The appeal was heard by Chief Justice Dr Sulaiman and Justice Douglas Young , who took only eight working days to deliver the judgment on 13th August , 1933 in a case which took about four years-and-six months in the magistrate 's and the Sessions courts . इस अपील की सुनवाई मुख़्य न्यायाधीश डा . सुलेमान और न्यायाधीश डगलस यंग ने की , जिनहोंने सिर्फ आठ कार्यदिवसों के बाद 13 अगस्त 1933 को एक ऐसे मुकदमे का फैसला सुनाया , जिसमें मजिस्ट्रेट और सेशन अदालत में साढ़े चार साल लगे थे .

It was argued that the Sessions Court in Kanpur had no jurisdiction to try Roy , that he was not legally committed as no proper and legal regular charges under Section 121-A of the Penal Code were framed and he was convicted upon the evidence which was irrelevant and incompetent . ” यह Zतर्क दिया गया था , कि कानपुर की सेशन अदालत को राय पर मुकदमा चलाने का न्यायाधिकार नहीं था , कि उन्हें कानूनत : गिरफ्तार नहीं किया गया था , क़्योंकि भारतीय दंड संहिता की धारा 12-ए के अंतर्गत कोई समुचित और अयोग़्य प्रमाणों के आधार पर दंडित किया गया था . ”

The Additional Sessions Court was formed for early settlement of long-standing crimes and under trial cases.The reason behind this was that the longest running cases resulted in the loss, obstruction of justice and increase in the crowd strength in Jails.On the advice of the 10th commission the Central Government instructed the State Governments to start 1734 fast track courts from 1st April 1734. Additional sessions judge or retired judge heads this Court and pending suits are not help up. ये अतिरिक्त सत्र न्यायालय है इनक गठन दीर्घावधि से लंबित अपराध तथा अंडर ट्रायल वादों के तीव्रता से निपटारे हेतु किया गया है इसके पीछे कारण यह था कि वाद लम्बा चलने से न्याय की क्षति होती है तथा न्याय की निरोधक शक्ति कम पड जाती है जेल मे भीड बढ जाती है 10 वे वित्त आयोग की सलाह पर केद्र सरकार ने राज्य सरकारों को 1 अप्रेल 2001 से 1734 फास्ट ट्रेक कोर्ट गठित करने का आदेश दिया अतिरिक्त सेशन जज याँ उंचे पद से सेवानिवृत जज इस प्रकार के कोर्टो मे जज होता है इस प्रकार के कोर्टो मे वाद लंबित करना संभव नहीं होता हैहर वाद को निर्धारित स्मय मे निपटाना होता है
