In return of this, Shah Jahan gave a large palace in between of the Agra city to Maharaj Jay Singh of Jaipur. शाहजहाँ ने इसके बदले जयपुर के महाराजा जयसिंह को आगरा शहर के मध्य एक वृहत महल दिया था।

Jama Masjid is a very large mosque which was dedicated to Princess Jahan Ara who was the daughter of Shah Jahan. जामा मस्जिद एक विशाल मस्जिद है जो शाहजहाँ की पुत्री शाहजा़दी जहाँआरा बेगम को समर्पित है।

Just after completion of Taj Mahal, Shah Jahan was sacked and locked in Agra fort by his own son Aurangjeb. ताजमहल के पूरा होने के तुरंत बाद ही, शाहजहाँ को अपने पुत्र औरंगजे़ब द्वारा अपदस्थ कर, आगरा के किले में नज़रबन्द कर दिया गया।

It was also said that Shah Jahan had killed those craftsman or cut their body parts who built the Taj Mahal. ऐसा भी कहा जाता है कि शाहजहाँ ने उन कारीगरों के अंगच्छेदन आदि करा दिये थे या मरवा दिया था जिन्होंने ताजमहल का निर्माण कराया था।

But according to some opinions this is called as one old fort and city of Lalkot which after being captured by Shah Jahan was made into this fort. पर कुछ मतों के अनुसार इसे लालकोट का एक पुरातन किला एवं नगरी बताते हैं जिसे शाहजहाँ ने कब्जा़ करके यह किला बनवाया था।

A longstanding myth holds that Shah Jahan planned a mausoleum to be built in black marble across the Yamuna river.[ एक पुरानी कथा के अनुसार शाहजहाँ की इच्छा थी कि यमुना के उस पार भी एक ठीक ऐसा ही किंतु काला ताजमहल निर्माण हो जिसमें उसकी कब्र बने।

Outside these wall there are cemetries, where Emperor Shah jahan and his wife is burried and a big cemetry for Queen Mumtaz's servant. इन दीवारों के बाहर अतिरिक्त मकबरे स्थित हैं जिसमें शाहजहाँ की अन्य पत्नियाँ दफ्न हैं एवं एक बडा़ मकबरा मुमताज की प्रिय दासी हेतु भी बना है।

According to an old story, Shah Jahan wants to construct another Taj Mahal in black marble on the other side of the river Yamuna. This ructure was intended to be his own tomb. एक पुरानी कथा के अनुसार शाहजहाँ की इच्छा थी कि यमुना के उस पार भी एक ठीक ऐसा ही किंतु काला ताजमहल निर्माण हो जिसमें उसकी कब्र बने।

Tomb of Chini is dedicated to the minister of Shah Jahan, Ullema Afzal Khan Shakarulla Shiraz, and is spectacular due to shining blue Irani carvings on the dome. चीनी का रोजा शाहजहाँ के मंत्री अल्लामा अफज़ल खान शकरउल्ला शिराज़ को समर्पित है और अपने पारसी शिल्पकारी वाले चमकीले नीले रंग के गुम्बद के लिये दर्शनीय है।

A solution was found by Shah Jahan that open permission would be given to farmers to take any number of bricks, and as a result the structure got cleared in one night. इसका समाधान यह हुआ कि शाहजाहाँ के आदेशानुसार स्थानीय किसानों को खुली छूट दी गई कि एक दिन में कोई भी चाहे जितनी ईंटें उठा सकता है और वह ढाँचा रात भर में ही साफ हो गया।
