Small areas of maquis are found on north-facing slopes near the sea, becoming more extensive on the lower plateau . " Juniperus phoenicea, Pistacia lentiscus, Quercus coccifera " and " Ceratonia siliqua " are common tree and large shrub species in the maquis.
