The artisans worked in their homes or in workshops and often lived in areas or streets which specialised in their respective products . कारीगर अपने घरों अथवा दुकानों पर ही काम करते थे और प्राय : ऐसे स्थानों और गलियों में रहते थे , जो उनकी वस्तुओं के निर्माण के लिए प्रसिद्ध थीं .
