Prince Ramesses is depicted in the Speos of West Silsila on a royal family stela dating to ca . year 30, and on a family stela from Aswan.

One stela is located at the northern end of the Speos and the main scene shows Merneptah before the gods Amun-Ra, Monthu, Sobek and Hathor.

The Great Speos also contains two chapels belonging to Paser from the reign of Ramesses II . A stele in the doorway shows Ramesses II, Queen Isetnofret and Princess-Queen Bintanath.

Consequently, this underground temple became known to them as " Speos Artemidos ", the " Cave of Artemis ", a name that persists even though Artemis is not an Egyptian goddess.

Apart from the temple of Wadi es-Sebua, Setau also erected another temple at Gerf Hussein on the West Bank of the Nile around Year 45 of Ramesses II . This temple, called the'House of Ptah'was a " hemi-speos " or a partially rock cut and partially exposed temple which was dedicated to Ptah, Ptah-Tatenen and Hathor and associated with the pharaoh himself.
