Robinson has four elder paternal half-siblings, one of whom is Brody Dalle ( born Bree Joanna Alice Robinson ) of punk rock band the Distillers and alternative rock band Spinnerette.

The Novocaines opened for artists including Them Crooked Vultures, Spinnerette, Shonen Knife, and toured with Australian acts including You Am I, Grinspoon, Jebediah, Southbound, and South By South West festivals.

The group released three albums before disbanding in 2006, and Dalle began another project, Spinnerette, releasing an eponymous album in 2009 . In 2014, she released " Diploid Love ", her first album under her solo name.

In 2009, they toured with Spinnerette, Eagles of Death Metal, Juliette Lewis In 2010, they played a show with Courtney Love's group, Hole, in London at the O2 Shepherds Bush Empire as well as their own headlining tour in March 2010.
