Then, on July 9, Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari said that the Iraqi government had decided to expel members of the MEK. The Iranian ambassador to Iraq, Hassan Kezemi-Qomi , specified that the Iraqi cabinet had agreed quickly to expel the MEK from Iraq. Iran's Jame Jam television channel reported on July 6 that “American military forces have announced their readiness to hand over” Camp Ashraf to Baghdad, which gave the MEK six months to leave its territory. इसके बाद 9 जुलाई को विदेश मन्त्री होशायेर जेबारी ने कहा कि इराक की सरकार ने निर्णय लिया है कि एम ई के सदस्यों को बाहर देश से निकाल दिया जायेगा। इराक में ईरानी राजदूत हसन काजमी कौमी ने और स्पष्ट किया कि इराक की कैबिनेट इस बात पर सहमत हो गयी है कि एम ई के को शीघ्र ही इराक से निकाल दिया जाये। ईरान के जेम जाम टीवी चैनल ने 6जुलाई को रिपोर्ट दी कि, “ अमेरिकी सेना एम ई के कैम्प अशरफ को बगदाद के हाथों सौंपने को राजी है” जिसके अनुसार एम ई के को इस राज्य क्षेत्र को छोडने के लिये छह माह का समय मिलेगा।
