Although I disagree with Wilders about Islam (I respect the religion but fight Islamists with all I have), we stand shoulder-to-shoulder against the lawsuit. I reject the criminalization of political differences, particularly attempts to thwart a grassroots political movement via the courts. Accordingly, the Middle East Forum's Legal Project has worked on Wilders' behalf, raising substantial funds for his defense and helping in other ways. We do so convinced of the paramount importance to talk freely in public during time of war about the nature of the enemy. Ironically, were Wilders fined or jailed, it would probably enhance his chances to become prime minister. But principle outweighs political tactics here. He represents all Westerners who cherish their civilization. The outcome of his trial and his freedom to speak has implications for us all. यद्यपि मैं इस्लाम के सम्बन्ध में वाइल्डर्स के साथ सहमति नहीं रखता( मैं मजहब का सम्मान करता हूँ परंतु इस्लामवादियों से पूरी शक्ति से लड्ता हूँ) हम कानूनी मामले के विरुद्ध कन्धे से कन्धे मिलाकर खडे हैं। मैं राजनीतिक मतभेद के अपराधीकरण के विरुद्ध हूँ विशेष रूप से एक जमीनी राजनीतिक आन्दोलन को न्यायालय के द्वारा बाधित किये जाने का। इसी कारण मिडिल ईस्ट फोरम के विधिक प्रकल्प ने वाइल्डर्स की ओर से कार्य करते हुए उनकी सहायता में पर्याप्त आर्थिक सहायता एकत्र की है और साथ ही अन्य प्रकार से भी सहायता की है। इसके साथ ही हम इस बात के मह्त्व को भी समझते हैं कि युद्ध के समय शत्रु के स्वरूप पर सार्वजनिक रूप से चर्चा होनी चाहिये।

Interpreting the AKP can take on the quality of a sophisticated intellectual puzzle, with the same evidence lending itself to contrary explanations. Take the AKP's strenuous efforts to win acceptance as a full member of the European Union by bringing Turkish practices into conformity with EU standards. Does this fit the Islamist agenda by expanding the rights of religious practice and reducing the military's role in politics? Or does it fit the secular agenda by making Turkey more fully a part of Europe? Both can be argued. Some Turks don't bother to speculate about the AKP's intentions, holding that the party cannot overturn secularism in Turkey because of several factors: secularism's entrenchment and wide popularity; the deep state's ultimate power to thwart the Islamist agenda of elected governments; and the AKP's specific limitations. On this last point, the party combines several disputing factions and it has very fast grown large; both of these suggest that it cannot serve as a disciplined instrument for the ambitious project of overturning the existing order. तुर्की के लोग ए के पी के आशय को लेकर बहुत चिंतित नहीं हैं . उनका मानना है कि तुर्की में कुछ ऐसे तत्व मौजूद हैं जिनके चलते यह पार्टी देश के सेक्यूलर ढ़ाँचे को बदल नही सकती. सेक्यूलरवाद की व्यापक लोकप्रियता और समाज पर इसकी गहरी पकड़ , राज्य की सेना , न्यायपालिका और अफसरशाही द्वारा निर्वाचित सरकारों को इस्लामिक एजेंडा लागू करने से रोक पाने की शक्ति और स्वयं ए के पी की अपनी सीमायें ऐसे तत्व हैं .इन सबसे अलग स्वयं ए के पी में जिस प्रकार विभिन्न विवादित गुटों का समन्वय है और जिस प्रकार तेजी से इसका विस्तार हुआ है उन दोनों कारणों से ऐसा लगता है कि तुर्की के ढाँचे को बदलने का इसका महत्वाकाँक्षी प्रकल्प पूरा नहीं हो सकता है .

As a tactically incompetent leader, his actions are difficult to predict but I expect him not to comply because: (1) He needs these weapons to preserve his regime. (2) The civil war underway in Syria facilitates thwarting the OPCW. (3) Obama's record suggests he won't strike in retaliation. (4) Saddam Hussein set an appealing precedent, whereby Iraqi “cat and mouse” games slowed down and obstructed a similar regimen to destroy weapons of mass destruction in the 1990s. Pope Francis called for a global day of fasting and prayer for Syria. बशर अल असद :जो ढाँचा निर्धारित किया गया है उसके अनुसार इस पूरी प्रक्रिया के संचालन के लिये महत्वपूर्ण निर्णय उनके प्रमुख संरक्षकों ( मोस्को और तेहरान ) और सलाहकारों ( असद परिवार) के प्रभाव से होगा। उनके समक्ष दो विकल्प हैं या तो रूस और अमेरिका के ढाँचे के तहत और रासायनिक हथियार नियंत्रण संगठन के अनुरूप इस निर्णय का पालन करें या न करें जो कि रासायनिक हथियार संधि को विनियमित करती है जिसमें शामिल होने का आश्वासन सीरिया ने दिया है। एक रणनीतिक और अक्षम नेता के रूप में उनके कार्यों के बारे में भविष्यवाणी करना अत्यंत कठिन है परंतु मुझे लगता है कि वे इसका पालन नहीं करेंगे क्योंकि (1) अपने शासन को बचाये रखने के लिये उन्हें इन हथियारों की आवश्यकता है । (2) सीरिया में चल रहे गृह युद्ध के चलते उन्हें इस संधि से बच निकलने का अवसर मिल जायेगा। (3) ओबामा के रिकार्ड को देखकर नहीं लगता कि वे बदले में हमला करेंगे । (4) सद्दाम हुसैन का उदाहरण भी है कि किस प्रकार इराक ने लुका छिपी का खेल खेलकर पूरी प्रक्रिया को धीमा कर 1990 के दशक में जनसंहारक हथियारों के विनाश को रोक दिया था ।
