As an E . M . I . ( English as the Medium of Instruction ) school, Ying Wa adopts English as the teaching medium in most subjects with the aim of achieving biliteracy ( Chinese and English ) and trilingualism with the inclusion of Putonghua.

Research at the centre includes documenting the development of bilingualism in bilingual children and assessing the bilingual competence they gain in childhood; raising the public's awareness of Hong Kong children's development of biliteracy and trilingualism; and studying and supporting the revitalisation of minority languages in the context of bilingual and multilingual education.

The constitution of Grisons, last revised on 14 September 2003, states in its preamble that the canton's purpose is to " safeguard freedom, peace, and human dignity, ensure democracy and the Rechtsstaat, promote prosperity and social justice and preserving a sane environment for the future generations, with the intention of promoting trilingualism and cultural variety and conserving them as part of our historical heritage ".

Over the years he published papers, in Yiddish and English, on various " history of ideas " topics, including the role of Aramaic in Aramaic-Hebrew-Yiddish internal Ashkenazic trilingualism ( he rejected the notion of a single fused Hebrew-hypen-Aramaic ); medieval rabbinic disputes over Yiddish; rabbinic contributions to Yiddish dialectology; the importance of the German underworld language Rotwelsch for Yiddish linguistics; Christian studies in Yiddish; and the 19th century roots of religious Yiddishism, among others.
