The date of birth of Surdas is around samwat 1535 because it is believed in Ballabh community that Ballabhacharya was elder to Surdas by ten days and Ballabhacharys was born on the said samwat on Baisakh Krishna Ekadashi. सूरदास का जन्म सं० १५३५ वि० के लगभग ठहरता है क्योंकि बल्लभ सम्प्रदाय में ऐसी मान्यता है कि बल्लभाचार्य सूरदास से दस दिन बड़े थे और बल्लभाचार्य का जन्म उक्त संवत् की वैशाख् कृष्ण एकादशी को हुआ था।

And yet in the same year was published Chhele Beta , reminiscences of his boyhood days , written in a style simple , lively and unaffected , and utterly different from the manner and mood reflected in the three stories cited above . हालांकि इसी वर्ष उनकी एक और कृति ? छेलेबेला ? - प्रकाशित हुई थी जो उनकी बाल्य स्मृतियों सेभरी , बहुत ही सरल , जीवंत , अनोखी और अनूठी रचना थी , और उक्त तीनों कहानियों की अपेक्षा अपनी प्रकृति और मनोदशा में सर्वथा अलग थी .

” That the Brahmo Public Opinion referred to in the said paragraph is a periodical work published in Calcutta every Thursday , and is believed by the public , and I believe it , to be under the editorship of a gentleman practising as an attorney of this hon ' ble court . ” कि उक्त अनुच्छेदों में जिस ' ब्रह्यो पब्लिक ओपीनियन ' का हवाला दिया गया है , वह कलकत्ता से हर बृहस्पतिवार छपने वाला साप्ताहिक है , जिसे जनता का पूरा विश्वास प्राप्त है और जिसमें भी पूरी आस्था रखता हूं क्योंकि उसके संपादक महोदय इसी माननीय अदालत में अभिवक्ता हैं .
