There is a proposal to set up a corporation to be called 'Agricultural Insurance Corporation of India' ' as a subsidiary of the General Insurance Corporation to manage its operations. There is a need to give more attention to high growth areas like animal husbandry and dairy and fishery and also improve and expand and upgrade the marketing and storage and distribution infrastructure and set up facilities for packaging and grading and certification of agricultural commodities. बजट में कृषि के लिए निर्धारित सिंचाई और कृषीय करों के व्यय को ५८ प्रतिशत बढ़ा कर १८०७ करोड़ रु. से २८५४ करोड़ रु. कर दिया गया था।

The government is promoting organized marketing of agricultural commodities in the country To achieve this, the governments of many states and union territories have enacted necessary legislation for regulation of agricultural produce markets इस लक्ष्य को प्राप्त करने के लिए कई राज्यों और केंद्र-शासित प्रदेशों की सरकारों ने कृषीय उत्पाद बाज़ारों के नियंत्रण के लिए आवश्यक कानून बनाए हैं.
