Bound to Chidambaram now , he took his time , visiting sacred shrines on the way , like Sirhazhi , the birth-place of the great Saivite saint Tirugnana-Sambandar whom he had , from early years , adopted as his spiritual Guru . चिदम्बरम की ओर जाते हुए वे रास्ते में पड़ने वाले तीर्थ-स्थानों के दर्शन भी करते रहे , जैस शैव संत तिरूज्ञान संबंदर का जन्म-स्थान सीरगाझी.प्रारंभ-काल में इन्हें ही अपना आध्यात्मिक गुरू माना था .

After words had done their best , there remained in their master the essence of mysteryunplumbed depth which their language could not express because their thought could not fathom . ग्रंथों में बुद्ध की भरपूर प्रशंसा है . . ...शबऋ-ऊण्श्छ्ष्-दों ने अपना काम पूरा कर लिया , तो उनके गुरू के पास रहसऋ-ऊण्श्छ्ष्-य का सार ततऋ-ऊण्श्छ्ष्-व बना रहा -वह असीमित गहराऋ ऋसे शबऋ-ऊण्श्छ्ष्-द आकार नहीं दे पाये कऋ-ऊण्श्छ्ष्-योकि उनके विचार उन तक पूर्णतः न पहुंचे .

Numerous disciples , religious heads , heads of monasteries , poets and scholars in Tamil and Sanskrit , rural and provincial magnates , government officials , people of importance , and unlettered people , gathered round him , revering him as a yogic adept and spiritual master , a poet and scholar . उनके चारों और अगणित शिष्य , धर्मगुरू , मठाधीश , तमिल और संस्कृत के Zकवि तथा प्रकांड विद्वान , गांव और क्षेत्र के प्रमुख व्यक़्ति , सरकारी अधिकरी , चर्चित व्यक़्ति और अशिक्षित जनतासभी इक़्ट्ठे होने लगे1 उनके लिए वे योग विशेषाज्ञ , आध्यात्मिक गुरू कवि और विद्वान थे .

The honourable character of this witness , the wide publicity of his Guru 's announcements , and the impossibility that he could have got from public rumour , or the journals of the day , any intimation that the Theosophical Society would be formed and would operate in India all these conspire to support the inference that Ramalinga Yogi was verily in the counsels of those who ordered us to found the Society . इस साक्ष्य के सम्माननीय चरित्र , उनके गुरू की घोषणाओं का व्यापक प्रचार , तथा किसी तरह की अफवाह या पत्रिका द्वारा , थियोसोZZZफिकल सोसाइटी की स्थापना तथा भारत में उसकी गतिविधि के संबंध में किसी पूर्व- सुचना की असंभाव्यता-ये सारी बातें इस तथ्य को प्रमाणित करती है कि रामंलिग योगी किसी-न-किसी रूप में परामर्शदाताओं से जुड़े थे जिन्होंने हमें इस सोसाइटी की स्थापना के आदेश दिये है

If the murdered p jrson is a Brahman , the Brahman murderer has to answer for it in a future life , or he is not allowed to do expiation , because expiation wipes off the sin from the sinner , whilst nothing can wipe off any of the mortal crimes from a Brahman , of which the greatest are : the murder of a Brahman , called vajmbmhmahatya ; further , the killing of a cow , the drinking of wine , whoredom , especially with the wife of one 's own father and teacher . यदि जिस व्यक्ति की हत्या हुई है वह ब्राह्मण हो तो हत्यारे ब्राह्मण को अगले जन्म में उसका उत्तर देना पड़ेगा क़्योंकि उसको प्रायश्चित करने की अनुमति नहीं है इसलिए कि प्रायश्चित करने से पापी का पाप धुल जाता है जबकि नियमानुसार ब्राह्मण द्वारा किए गए किसी भी महापाप का मार्जन नहीं हो सकता.महापाप ये हैं : ब्राह्मण की हत्या जो बज्र ब्रह्म हत्या ? कहलाती है ; इसके अतिरिक़्त गो-हत्या , मद्यपान , व्यभिचार विशेष रूप से अपने पिता की और गुरू की पत्नी के साथ किया गया व्यभिचार .

This was symbolic of his attitude to Muslims and produced at , least for some years a harmonious atmosphere similar to that which had once been produced by the great leaders of the Bhakti movement or by Kabir and Guru Nanak . Though the subsequent acrimonious quarrels between the Muslim League and the Congress destroyed this harmony , the fact that it had once been established in our time shows that pure religion free from any political alloy does not increase the distance between Hindus and Muslims but brings them closer . यह मुसलमानों के प्रति उनकी भावनाओं का प्रतीक था , ऋसके कुछ वर्षो तक उसी तरह का वातावरण निर्मित किया , जैसाकि किसी समय भकऋ-ऊण्श्छ्ष्-ति आंदोलन के बडें पवकऋ-ऊण्श्छ्ष्-तओं या कबीर और गुरू नानक द्वारा उतऋ-ऊण्श्छ्ष्-पनऋ-ऊण्श्छ्ष्-न किया गया था . यद्यपि मुसऋ-ऊण्श्छ्ष्-लिर्मलीग और कांग्रेस के बीच की कटुतापूर्ण लडऋआऋ ने इस सदभावना को नषऋ-ऊण्श्छ्ष्-ट कर दिया किंतु यह तथऋ-ऊण्श्छ्ष्-य कि हमारे समय में एक बार सदभावना सऋ-ऊण्श्छ्ष्-थापित हुयी थी , प्रकट करता है कि राजनैतिक समझऋता से मकऋ-ऊण्श्छ्ष्-त विशुद्ध धर्म हिंदू और मुसलमानों के बीच की दूरी नहीं बढऋआते बलऋ-ऊण्श्छ्ष्-कि उनको एक दूसरे के अधिक निकट लाने में सहायक होते है
