The revolutionary prisoners in Bengal and ' elsewhere who were not included in the general amnesty granted to satyagrahi prisoners as a result of the Delhi Pact went so far as to write to the Governor saying that the settlement with Gandhiji would not necessarily be binding on them . बंगाल तथा अन्य प्रांतों के क्रांतिकारी बंदियों ने , जिन्हें दिल्ली-समझौते के तहत सत्याग्रही बंदियों की तरह आम माफी में शामिल नहीं किया गया था , सरकार को चिट्ठी तक लिखी कि यह जरूरी नहीं है कि गांधी जी से हुए समझौते के वे भी पाबंद हों .

Not that there were any great secrets of mine which I wished to hide from the public gaze . But no -RRB- One likes to undress his mind and soul in public . So , always , through all these long years , whenever I took pen in hand to write a letter , subconsciously I kept a check on myself , feeling that strangers would see that letter . लेकिन जैसे हर आदमी लोगों के बीच अपने दिल और दिमाग की बातों को फूहड़ तरीके से नहीं कहना चाहता , वैसे ही इन बरसों में मैने जब जब चिट्ठी लिखने के लिए कलम उठाई , तब मेरी कलम खुद-ब-खुद अपने काबू में रही और बराबर यह ख़्याल बना रहा कि इस चिट्ठी को न जाने कितने गैर जानिकदार लोग पढ़ेंगे .
