After premchand's death also his stories were out of edited verion in which Balance sheet and compositionsin 1937 and women's life stories in 1938 was published in banaaras. प्रेमचन्द की मृत्यु के बाद भी उनकी कहानियों के कई सम्पादित संस्करण निकले जिनमें कफन और शेष रचनाएँ १९३७ में तथा नारी जीवन की कहानियाँ १९३८ में बनारस से प्रकाशित हुए।

The establishment of the Calcutta Madrasah and the Banaras Sanskrit College was the first step taken by the East India Company to encourage education in the area under its administration . कलकत्ता मदरसा और बनारस संस्क्Qत कालेज की स्थापना उनके प्रशासन के अधीन क्षेत्र में शिक्षा को प्रोत्साहित करने का ईस्ट इंडिया कंपनी द्वारा लिया गया पहला कदम था .

After the death of Premchand, many edited versions of his stories were published from Banaras. Pilgrim centres like Benaras specialised in brass and copperware and bell-metal industries , turning out wares for worship and religious purposes . Depending on royal patronage , luxury industries predominated in towns . बनारस जैसे तीर्थ स्थानों ने पीतल , तांबा और कांस्य धातु के उद्योगों में विशेष नाम कमाया क़्योंकि यहां पर इनसे पूजा , अर्चना तथा धार्मिक कृत्यों का सामान बनता था .

Symbolic of this tendency was the movement started in Banaras in 1867 for abolishing Urdu from Government offices and courts and adopting literary Hindi in the Devanagari script . इस प्रवृति के प्रतीक के रूप में 1867 में शासकीय कार्यालयों और न्यायालयों से उर्दू हटाने तथा देवनागरी लिपि में साहित्यिक हिंदी स्थापित करनपे को आंदोलन बनारस में प्रारंभ कर दिया गया था .

She was awarded D.Lit. by Bikram University in 1969, by Kumaoun University in 1977, by Delhi University in 1989 and by Banaras Hindu University in 1984. सन १९६९ में विक्रम विश्वविद्यालय १९७७ में कुमाऊं विश्वविद्यालय नैनीताल १९८० में दिल्ली विश्वविद्यालय तथा १९८४ में बनारस हिंदू विश्वविद्यालय वाराणसी ने उन्हें डी.लिट की उपाधि से सम्मानित किया।
