After the fight with the foreign power broad treaty was agreed upon river Sutlej and before which in west Mahakali to the spread of river Teesta got over but Nepal was able to retain its independence.succeefully, afterwards the English in1822 the portion in the Valley of Mechi River and Rapti River was returned back to Nepal. Similarly in 1860 pleased with Rana Prime minister Jungbahadur the English returned the small part of Rapti River to Mahakali in between valley to Nepal. विलायत से लड़ने में पश्चिम मे सतलुज से पुर्व में तीस्ता नदी तक फैला हुआ विशाल नेपाल सुगौली सन्धि के बाद पश्चिम में महाकाली और मेची नदियों के बीच सिमट गया लेकिन अपनी स्वाधीनता को बचाए रखने में नेपाल सफल रहा बाद मे अंग्रेजो ने १८२२ मे मेची नदी व राप्ती नदी के बीच की तराई का हिस्सा नेपाल को वापस किया उसी तरह १८६० मे राणा प्रधानमन्त्री जंगबहादुर से खुश होकर अंग्रेजों ने राप्तीनदी से महाकाली नदी के बीच का तराई का थोड़ा और हिस्सा नेपाल को लौटाया ।
