The Muslim middle-classes had , at least in northern India , depended mainly on zamindari or jagirdari and state services for their livelihood , throughout the seven and a half centuries since the establishment of the Delhi Sultanate , to the present day . मुसलमान मध्यम श्रेणी के लोग कम उत्तर भारत में जीविका के लिए मुख़्यता जमींदारी या भागीदारी तथा राज़्य सेवाओं , पर , दिल्ली सल्तनत की स्थापना की स्थापना से आज के समय तक पूरे साढ़े सात शताब्दियों तक निर्भर करते रहे .

The appeal was heard by Chief Justice Dr Sulaiman and Justice Douglas Young , who took only eight working days to deliver the judgment on 13th August , 1933 in a case which took about four years-and-six months in the magistrate 's and the Sessions courts . इस अपील की सुनवाई मुख़्य न्यायाधीश डा . सुलेमान और न्यायाधीश डगलस यंग ने की , जिनहोंने सिर्फ आठ कार्यदिवसों के बाद 13 अगस्त 1933 को एक ऐसे मुकदमे का फैसला सुनाया , जिसमें मजिस्ट्रेट और सेशन अदालत में साढ़े चार साल लगे थे .

The attempt of this Government to crush the national movement during the past three and a half years , with all the horror and brutality that accompanied it , has failed , and the Indian people are stronger and more determined to achieve their freedom than ever . पिछले साढ़े तीन बरसों में इस सरकार ने राष्ट्रीय आंदोलन को जोर-जबरदस्ती और बर्बरता से कुचलने की जो कोशिश की , उसमें इसे कामयाबी नहीं मिली.हिंदुस्तान की जनता में आजादी हासिल करने की ताकत और इच्छा पहले से ज़्यादा तेज हो गयी है .

But they are discouraged and distressed by the feeling that the pattern which is being sought to be evolved and symbolised in a considerable section of Hindus , the attempt to make Hindi the sole national language , is inspired by an exclusive policy which tends to reject the contribution made by Muslims to Indian culture during the last seven and a half centuries . हिंदी को एक मात्र राष्ट्र भाषा बनाने के प्रयत्न एक विशिष्ट नीति से प्रेरित हैं , जो पिछले साढ़े सात शताब्दियों में मुसलमानों द्वारा भारतीय संस्कृति को किये गये योगदान को नकारते प्रतीत होते हैं .
