She divided up her day among small tasks , to save herself from going mad with the feeling of futility , of being lost between these four dull walls . कभी - कभी ऊब और व्यर्थता की भावना इतनी घनी हो जाती कि उसे लगता वह अपने होश - हवास खो बैठेगी , कोठरी की सूनी चहारदीवारी के भीतर हमेशा के लिए खत्म हो जाएगी । अपने को ऐसी भावनाओं से दूर रखने के लिए वह छोटे - छोटे कामों में अपना दिन बाँट लेती ।

In this status , someone close should be there to monitor the progress and check urine ketones and blood glucose frequently . The decision for hospitalisatipn should be arrived at if there are no signs of improvement or there are changes in consciousness that seem to progress rapidly . इस अवस्था की शुरुआत में अतिरिक़्त इंसुलिन लेकर , अधिक मात्रा में तरल पदार्थो को पीकर तथा इस अवस्था के लिए जिममेदार कारणों का उपचार करके उस पर काबू पाया जा सकता है.इस अवस्था में रोगी के पास कोई नजदीकी व्यक्ति अवश्य रहे और रोगी की अवस्था पर निगाह रखे तथा बार-बार पेशाब में कीटोंस और रक़्त ग़्लूकोज स्तर की जांच करे . यदि रोगी कर स्थिति में कोई सुधार न हो रहा हो या होश में तेजी से बिगड़ाव आ रहा हो तो उसे अस्पताल में दाखिल कराने का निर्णय लें .
