It originates in the Western Ghats in Karnataka and meanders over 800 kms before entering the Bay of Bengal . During its course into Tamil Nadu , the Cauvery flows through Pallipalayam , Erode and Trichy and gets polluted due to the clustering of huge chemical , paper and sugar industries , distilleries and textile processing units in these towns . यह कर्नाटक के पश्चिमी घाट से निकलकर और करीब 800 किलोमीटर का सफर तय करती हुई तमिलनाडु में गुजरते हुए पल्लीपलायम , इरोड और त्रिची से होकर बहती है और इन क्षेत्रों में मौजूद बहुत सारे रसायन , कागज और चीनी मिलों , शराब के कारखानों , वस्त्र संसाधन इकाइयों के कारण प्रदूषित हो जाती
